Through active involvement and working with the community, Upper Hutt Community Rescue (UHCR) strengthens our ties with professional emergency services and community groups.
Search and rescue
UHCR attends search and rescue regional exercises, sharing skills and developing our knowledge with other rescue teams in the region.
Professional multi agency training
Through our established links, UHCR participates in numerous exercises with professional emergency services, focusing on support and logistical roles as well as rescue and response.
Without the support of grants and funding from local community organisations and trusts, we wouldn’t be fortunate to have the equipment we have today.
Through their generosity we have been able to purchase vehicles and equipment to use at community events and when on rescue-related deployments and activities.

Sponsors and supporters
Upper Hutt Community Rescue (UHCR) is grateful for the support of its sponsors within the community. If it wasn’t for the generosity of these people and businesses, we wouldn’t be able to provide the community with the level of support we do.
Every sponsor’s contribution is important and valued by the team. If you would be interested in supporting the team we would love to talk to you. We pride ourselves on supporting those who support us. Contact us.
Team Talk has had a long association with UHCR and provide us with access to their trunk radio network. Without their help and support we wouldn’t be able to communicate as effectively as we do and reach the rest of the world from the back blocks or isolated off-road areas. See WWW.TEAMTALK.CO.NZ.
